Wow...I read some of the stories here and wish I personally could reach out and help others. I was listening to a television ad asking for warm socks, jeans, etc. for kids Christmas's here in the Reno area and told my husband that I hope those kids could get at least one toy for Christmas too ( toys are part of the magic of Christmas...warm clothes should be a yearly event, not just a Christmas event) and if only we had a spare $100 I'd go out and buy some toys for some kids. He made a comment that today, $100 would not go too far. I told him I'd buy BOOKS...they are magical, educational and fun and reading is a lifetime gift. Going to a thrift shop today to see if I can pick up some newer looking books to wrap and distribute. Found some last week for my nephew for less than $1.00 for 4 of them. Just thought I'd pass this on.
